We are pleased that you would like to apply for a study program in Musical Instrument Making at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Markneukirchen!

General information about admission to a study program at the West Saxon University of
Applied Sciences as well as general study and social counseling can be found here.

Please note that for the Bachelor's program in Musical Instrument Making and the Master's
program in Acoustics and Technology in Musical Instrument Making, an aptitude test is
required prior to application. The next enrollment will be in the winter semester 2023/24.

Step 1: Registration for the qualifying examination by May 31, 2023

Step 2: Submission of your application documents by June 7, 2023.

Your application documents for the bachelor program include

  • digitized documentation on a self-made instrument
  • tabular curriculum vitae with photo
  • university entrance qualification
  • last certificate of vocational training or proof of internship in musical instrument making

Your application documents for the master study contain:

  • Curriculum vitae in table form with photo
  • Certificate of the first degree
  • Letter of motivation to study

International applicants, whose native language is not German, please also enclose a
language certificate German B 1 (Bachelor or B 2 (Master).

Step 3: Suitability test

After reviewing the application documents, you will receive your invitation to the aptitude
test, which consists of an aptitude interview and, if applicable, a practical work sample.

The communication takes place via e-mail to: musikinstrumentenbau[at]fh-zwickau.deInterviews will be held individually and as needed. In case of positive feedback, your studies
can begin! We wish you much success!

On June 12, 2023, the aptitude tests as well as aptitude interviews will take place in
Markneukirchen in presence.
