International
For the promotion of creativity and for the success of the creative education of budding designers, the pursuit of artistic exchange and the gathering of (inter)cultural experiences are not luxuries. Curiosity, the desire to experiment and confrontation with the unknown (and unfamiliar) are indispensable sources of inspiration. This is why the internationalisation of the Schneeberg Faculty of Applied Arts is of great importance, and this in several respects:
Internationality of students – "Incoming"
Young people from all over Europe and the world study at the faculty. So on the one hand, the faculty is 'colourful' – and that's a good thing! Everyone, the students and the lecturers, benefit greatly from this.
Internationality of students – "Outgoing"
On the other hand, it is not unusual for a good proportion of Schneeberg students in one field of study and one matriculation year to live and study abroad at the same time, either as part of exchange programmes or to complete their practical semester with foreign, internationally renowned companies in the design or instrument-making industry. The International Office (IO) of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau and the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Studies promote the mobility of students through intensive counselling and a wide range of practical assistance - and they do so out of conviction: Internationality is important for education in general and career opportunities in particular. Internationalisation – Curriculum
The faculty also maintains a considerable number of relationships with partner universities as well as private study institutions. Exchanges at the lecturer level offer students a unique opportunity to become acquainted with a variety of perspectives on design and instrument making. This offer is to be expanded in the future.
