This interdisciplinary bachelor’s course combines basic knowledge of natural sciences with applied training in engineering. The students will gain key competences in the fields of renewable energies, efficiency of resources and technical environmental protection, based on theoretical chemical, physical and procedural principles. The students will deal with topics relating to renewable energies such as photovoltaics, wind power, geothermics and fuel cell technology, as well as biomass utilization. They will also deal with current issues such as “energy in the global context”- balancing the priorities of energy consumption and environmental impact. There is also the opportunity to apply previously gained knowledge during several internships and/or practical work during lectures, which can lead to developing new products and processes for the fields of energy engineering, ecology and analytics.
