The WHZ is a dynamic, people-oriented university with approximately 4700 students, located in Zwickau, Schneeberg, Reichenbach and Markneukirchen. More than 1,000 students from 50 different countries begin their studies here each year, choosing from our 50 study programmes in the fields of engineering and technology, business and life quality. The quality of our academic education, especially in the field of engineering, is well known both in Germany and abroad. We have cooperative partnerships with universities all over the world.

The first degree course is free of tuition fees. In addition to our well established and clearly structured Bachelor's and Master's degree study programmes, students can also acquire the traditional German university Diplom qualification. Studying at the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ) offers students an academically excellent learning environment with strong practice-orientation. Optimal conditions are provided to enrich your experience, including supervisory and support activities, professors committed to helping you, and one of the finest university libraries in Germany. The city of Zwickau is located at the foot of the Erzgebirge region in the geographical triangle where Saxony, Bavaria and the Czech Republic meet. In the summer, nature lovers and biking fans can enjoy the spectacular Mulde River Valley region, while winter sport enthusiasts will also find a wide range of activities nearby. Zwickau is well-known as the birthplace of the renowned composer Robert Schumann, and home of the famous automobile manufactures Horch, Audi und Trabant. Today, the popular Volkswagen car models Golf and Passat are manufactured here.
The university’s main campus is situated in the historical old city with its ambient shopping promenades and thriving pub district. With student clubs, cinemas and theatres as well as much more you'll find a rich variety of cultural activities here. The easy accessibility of the city and the reasonable housing costs also make Zwickau attractive for students.
