PC Cabinets

The ZKI operates 19 computer cabinets distributed at the university locations Campus Inner City (Campus Ring), Campus Scheffelstraße, Reichenbach, Schneeberg and Markneukirchen. The cabinets are equipped with software and hardware according to the study-relevant requirements and are usually maintained by the ZKI staff and partly by auxiliary staff at the satellite campuses.

All cabinets in the city center area are open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Separate opening hours apply at the university locations in Reichenbach and Schneeberg. The staff of the ZKI will provide advice and support for the use of the computer technology if necessary.

For your information:

  • All computer technology cabinets (RTK) are subject to occupational health and safety guidelines and technical conditions (air conditioning, lighting, etc.), which must be strictly adhered to.
  • The number of PC workstations, usually 15+1 or 30+1, must be observed. A maximum of one additional seat per row of desks can be provided for the teacher.
  • All PC workstations are equipped in accordance with the EU Display Workstation Directive. According to this guideline, all RTK are designed and confirmed by occupational health and safety regulations.
  • The cooling and fresh air supply of all air-conditioned RTK is calculated according to the number of PC workstations (persons as well as devices). If the number of staff is higher than the planned target number, the required hygienic air exchange (CO2 content) and air conditioning are no longer guaranteed.
  • When planning courses and occupying these rooms, the specified number of workstations must be strictly adhered to.
